Wednesday night, NBC crowned a new winner for the 9th season of its stand-up comedy reality show competition, Last Comic Standing. Atlanta's Clayton English beat out 99 other comedians to win $250,000, a development deal with NBC, and the title of Last Comic Standing.
English was recently in Montreal as one of Just For Laughs' 2015 New Faces of Comedy and last night, the Atlanta native showed the judges what he's made of and took home the grand prize by remaining the Last Comic Standing.
Judges Keenan Ivory Wayans, Roseanne Barr and the Colonel himself, Norm MacDonald, had their work cut out for them during the season finale of Last Comic.
The final batch of contestants consisted of 5 talented comedians who couldn't be more different from each other if they tried. The impossible-not-to-like, Michael Palascak; the comedy vet who tells it like it is, Dominique; represnting Canada the fearless and crowd-pleasing Ian Bagg; and the eccentric newcomer, Andi Erikson. Everyone did great, some more than others, and in the end Clayton English won it all.
Can't say we're surprised, this guy's is the real deal. Congrats, Clayton! Looking forward to seeing way more of you in the near future.
