A Day-By-Day Guide Of What to See at Toronto's JFL42

The 4th edition of Toronto's Comedy Festival, JFL42, starts today and, like we learned in Girl Guides,  it's important to "be prepared". Therefore, as we embark on this  10-day comedy extravagaza, here's a day-by-day guide of which shows you gotta see . 

Thursday, September 24

Rory Scovel 8:45PM at the Royal Theatre and 11PM at The Garrison

Our favourite part about watching Rory is you really never know what to expect. But one thing's for sure, it's going to be hilarious.

 

Friday, September 25

Brian Posehn 7pm at The Garrison

The Fartist himself will be gracing the stages of Toronto. This alt-comedy behemoth will no doubt leave you wanting more. 

 

Saturday, September 2

Trevor Noah 7pm HEADLINER SHOW at the Sony Centre

As one of the Festival's headliners, the Trevor Noah Sony Centre a mere 2 days before he begins hosting The Daily Show!

 

Sunday, September 27

T.J. Miller Stand up show at 7pm and 9:30pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre and Cashing In with T.J. Miller podcast at 11:59 at the Royal Theatre

The star of HBO's Silicon Valley, and blockbuster movies like Transformers: Age of Extinction, Big Hero 6, will be in Toronto for one night only! Bonus - Also doing his podcast, Cashing In with T.J. Miller.

 

Monday, September 28

John Hodgman - 7pm at the Royal Theatre

The Daily Show alum has taken his show on the road, literally. He's making a 2 day stop on his tour to grace Toronto with his new show: Vacationland. 

 

Tuesday, September 29

Ari Shaffir 9:30pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre

One of our favorite storytelling comedians, and creator and star of Comedy Central's This Is Not Happening is returning to JFL42 and we couldn't be more excited.

 

Wednesday, September 30

Nikki Glaser 8:45pm at the Royal Theatre

She's baaaack! Nikki is making her way back to Toronto for a few days before her Comedy Central special airs. You've seen her on Last Comic Standing, Conan and Inside Amy Schumer, now you can see her IRL at JFL42!

 

Thursday, October 1

Jake and Amir: If I Were You Podcast

8:45pm at the Royal Theatre

We've raved about them before and we'll do it again. Jake and Amir are FINALLY bringing their If I Were You advice podcast to Toronto! So Seize the Cheese and go see this show or else prepare to be put on blast.

 

Friday, October 2

Kyle Kinane 8:45pm and 10:30pm at the Royal Theatre

He's voice of Comedy Central and stars in what just might be our favorite episode of Drunk History ever. Kyle Kinane is coming to Totonto people! You better recognize.

 

Saturday,  October 3

Dr. Katz Live 7pm at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre

Remember the awesome squigle-vision TV show from the 90s? Ya, that Dr. Katz. Come see a live 'therapy session' with patients including Andy Kindler,  Sean Cullen and from Kids in the Hall, Scott Thompson!
