5 Just For Laughs Shows For The Financially Challenged

Well, the behemoth of all comedy festivals is upon us. In a matter of days, hundreds of comedians will descend upon the fair city of Montreal to participate in the prestigious Just For Laughs Comedy Festival.

Now, there are literally hundreds of baller (that word died with millennial hip-hop right?) shows to see at the festival this year, but if you're on a budget here are some recommendations that won't destroy the integrity of your wallet.

Here are the top 5 shows you should see at JFL this month UNDER $25:

1. JFLOL (OFF JFL)
These shows will have you ROFL-ing. There's a different lineup of comedians each night and you never know who might end up on the bill (wink-wink). Bonus! Part of the run is being hosted by our internet crushes Jake and Amir.

2. JEN KIRKMAN (OFF JFL)
Beyond being utterly hilarious, there's just something gosh-darn relatable about Jen Kirkman. We're going try to be her best friend at this year's festival and you should to. *We are in no way advocating the stalking of Jen Kirkman. Best Friend status with Jen Kirkman should only be achieved in your fantasies like ours.*

3. NEAL BRENNAN 3 Mics (OFF JFL)
We have to say, this run of shows gave us the tingles when it was annouced. The Co-creator of Chappelle’s Show is coming to the festival with 3 Mics–one for traditional stand-up, one for one-liners, and one for short confessional monologues.  What can we say? We're suckers for a concept show...especially if it's headed-up by a guy who made legendary comedy.

4. SAM SIMMONS Spaghetti For Breakfast (OFF JFL)
Imagine your child-like imagination came to life in a live show format. Now imagine a delightful Australian man with a Bert Reynolds 'stache. You now have some concept of what to expect from this show. But honestly, you can never expect anything but the unexpected from Sam. You just gotta to see it.

5. SILICON VALLEY PANEL (ComedyPRO)
The cast and creators of the hit HBO series Silicon Valley. All of them. T.J. Miller, Thomas Middleditch, Zach Woods. In a room. In Montreal. If you don't know the show, start binge watching now and get your head in the game. GET YOUR HEAD IN THE GAME!

Here's some more financial advice for you. GET AN OFF-JFL PASS. The series has some of the best programming of the entire festival plus it's great value for your hard earned (or not so hard earned) mullah. Also, RSPS and BONDS and RSVPS and other financial jargon, etc.
